Donate Now!Tagging for Nonprofit Operations
I am lagging on entering nonprofit operations links into Capaciteria. However, I just learned how to tag all my favorite Nonprofit Operations links in del.icio.us. Check it out.
I created a username and password at del.icio.us and then downloaded their tagging software which allows me to right click a link and tag it or click on the tag button on my browser.
I now associate my favorite nonprofit operations links with the following tags.
- npooperations
- npoaccounting
- npoboards
- npocommunications
- npoeducation
- npofinance
- npofundraising
- npohr
- npoleadership
- npolegal
- nporesearch
- nporiskmanagement
- npostartup
- npotraining
- nptech (many people use this tag too)
It is great to have all my nonprofit operations links in one place. Now if I could just enter them into Capaciteria.
If a topic or subject interests you—tag it! If you have additional nonprofit operations helpful links you would like to share, I encourage you to use the same tags above.
I’m tagging my blog entries too.

Updated Capaciteria
Heather I checked the links and added most of the resources that weren’t already in capaciteria, cross-referencing them appropriately and eliminating duplications. I also took the liberty of correcting or deleting some broken links that were tagged.
Tag Naming Schema
Hi Heather, I have been pondering the NP preface model in general and the NPTech Tag in specific. Using the NP preface is a great schema that has already taken hold among nonprofit bloggers, and NPTech may already be the only game in town…but I hesitate because 1) I don’t always know what the difference between NPTech and just plain old Tech (I know what it should be, but it’s used for all kinds of tech, not just the TechSoups of the world); and 2) If you aren’t a blogger and you do a search for “nonprofit” none of the NP Tags will be in the search results.
I’ve been using a combination one-two punch, I bookmark almost everything “Nonprofit” and then use the NP equivalent for industry folks.
Here are some of mine so far (no consistancy so far):

You know what could be cool?
If we/someone makes a bookmarklet that has these tags in it as check boxes and links to del.icio.us to make it easier to add the “right” tag.
Whatcha think?
